Entry-Level Support Engineer

About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Support Engineer to join our dynamic technical support team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our internal users, providing timely and effective solutions for their technical issues. This role is responsible for assessing incoming support requests, performing initial troubleshooting, and escalating more complex problems to senior engineers. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with foundational technical skills to grow and develop in a supportive environment.
What you’ll do:
- Act as the first line of support for client service.
- Triage and prioritize incoming support tickets, ensuring that urgent issues are addressed promptly.
- Must be able to solve problems and demonstrate technical problem-solving skills. Have the ability to identify and break down root cause issues.
- Provide clear and concise solutions to users, guiding them through corrective steps.
- Document all support interactions and their resolutions in our ticketing system.
- Escalate unresolved issues to the appropriate internal teams, such as senior support engineers or software developers.
- Author and maintain documentation for our knowledge base to help users resolve common issues independently.
- Collaborate with the support team to identify and suggest improvements to our support processes.
- Entry-level support roles involve continuous learning. You must be able to learn new skills on short notice and adapt to dynamic environments.
What you’ll need:
- A solid understanding & experience of HTML/CSS and JavaScript (preferred).
- Proficiency in writing basic SQL queries to retrieve, join, filter/sort, aggregate and update data.
- Foundational understanding of Java, including core concepts like OOP (Object-Oriented Programming).
- Basic knowledge of the React framework and its core principles is nice to have.
- Familiarity with consuming RESTful APIs and web services.
- Some experience with version control systems, preferably Git.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical skills, and great attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- A bachelor’s degree in a CS or other technical field is a plus.
