Embrace learning at this year's LIMRA marketing conference.

By Emilie Totten

Financial service management sales reps and marketers have another upcoming event to get excited about. LIMRA’s 2014 Marketing and Research Conference in Boston started on May 28, and it’s not too late to register and attend sessions over the next few days.

Financial services research company LIMRA sponsors many different conferences across the globe and within the U.S. This year’s marketing and research conference is called “Bring Learning to Life,” and embraces continuous education about the current marketing and sales climate in the financial sphere. According to the website, the conference is a place where you can put research and ideas into practice and expand your knowledge of marketing in the 21st century. Because of the unique situation of financial management firms, many companies have yet to embrace some of the channels that other industries are utilizing. On the other hand, without doing the right research, it can be hard for marketers in this sphere to know what direction to take with their approaches.

These days, there are so many new and different ways to reach prospects that it can be hard to know where to start. The key thing to keep in mind is that almost no one really knows the answer to this question. As the world continues to change at a breathtaking pace, the important thing is to keep an open mind and embrace what comes along. Marketers need to learn how to be nimble and be open to the channels customers are using.

The conference sessions cover getting into social media, improving training with digital techniques, as well as how to harness big data, get effective feedback from customers and learn about certain key target demographics like millennials and baby boomers. All in all, it looks to be an enriching and engagement time. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to embrace continuous learning!

If you didn’t make it to this conference, there’s still time to register for LIMRA’s Social Media Conference for Financial Services in Boston on August 20th through 22nd. This upcoming conference is perfect for Executives and their teams in Marketing, e-Marketing, Sales, Distribution, Compliance, IT, and Operations that want to learn how to effectively utilize social media marketing. Presenters include financial services executives, legal and regulatory experts, advertising executives, and technology leaders that will focus on providing the strategies and practices you and your team need to build relationships, enhance your brand, grow sales and recruit new producers.
