Upcoming Event: LIMRA’s Social Media Conference for Financial Services (August 2014)

Between August 20 and 22, financial services professionals will convene in Boston for another social media-oriented conference. Now in its fifth year, LIMRA’s Social Media Conference for Financial Services helps financial services companies develop the expertise they need to build relationships, grow sales and recruit new producers using social platforms.

According to the website, this event is useful for anyone from marketing and sales reps to IT and compliance professionals. As social media continues to be a hot topic in financial services and elsewhere in the marketing sphere, this conference addresses some in-depth issues that are top-of-mind for financial services marketers.

The Keynote speaker this year is Randi Zuckerberg, Founder and CEO of Zuckerberg Media. As an early pioneer in the world of social platforms, Zuckerberg has some key insights to share about how financial services businesses can make social media work for them. Her presentation is called “Social Media is Free…Just Like a Puppy is Free (the hidden costs and what it REALLY takes to be great online).”

Sessions will also address the most recent trends in social media, based on LIMRA’s research, and best practices for managing a team that’s using online networks. In addition, there will be discussions about making emotional connections on social platforms, and building trust with consumers online. Whatever you’re most curious or concerned about regarding social media in this industry, there’s probably a panel that will help you work through it. In addition to connecting with customers, talks will also center around recruitment and onboarding using social media, as well as crisis management. There’s something for everyone at this conference.
